Getting to the island is timeless adventure, and it’s a Nantucket tradition shared by generations of visitors. No matter how you get here, we know that the journey will put you in the right frame of mind-leaving the mainland where it belongs, on the mainland!

We offer complimentary pick up and drop off from the ferry, but advanced reservations are required. To reserve ferry pickup or on-site parking, please choose from the buttons below.

From Hyannis, MA via high-speed ferry (1 hour crossing time):
From New Bedford, MA via high-speed ferry – (mid-May through Columbus Day Weekend, October. 1 hour 30 minute crossing time):
From New York, NY via high-speed ferry service from E. 35th Street, Manhattan – (weekends only from late May to early- September. 6 hour crossing time):
From Martha’s Vineyard and Harwichport, MA – Additional seasonal high-speed passenger ferry service is provided to Nantucket from Martha’s Vineyard Island via Hy-Line Cruises, and Harwichport (located near Chatham on Cape Cod) via Freedom Cruises.
If you do choose to bring a car to the island, auto reservations are require and should be made as soon as possible with the Steamship Authority. The Steamship Authority operates the only automobile ferry service to the island from Hyannis on Cape Cod. These large vessels operate hourly, year-round.
To arrange auto reservations, contact the Steamship Authority by either calling them directly at (508) 477-8600 or booking on-line via their website. Reservations for passengers are unnecessary.
Note: When you inquire about your automobile reservation, if you can’t get your first request, ask to have your name put on the Waiting List. It usually works out very well and, more often than not, you’ll get the reservation time you desire.
Note: If you wish to bring your car to the Island, we require your notifying us in advance so we can reserve a parking space for you at the Hotel. Space is limited and available on a first-come, first-serve basis.There isn’t any charge for this service, but you need to order it in advance on our Pre-Arrival Concierge.
