Driving Directions to the Nantucket Ferry Docks & Airport in Hyannis

Whether you’re coming to Nantucket from the New York City area, or metropolitan Boston, here’s the recommended way to get to Hyannis, the Nantucket Ferry base, if you’re driving.

Take I-95 to Providence, I-195 to Wareham, then Route 25 to the Bourne Bridge (follow signs for the Cape and Islands). You can cross the Cape Cod Canal either by using the Bourne or Sagamore Bridges; follow directions to Mid-Cape Highway (Route 6) to Exit 6 Hyannis (Route 132, which will take you into Hyannis). Follow the signs to ferry docks or airport. Trip takes approximately 4 1/2 – to-5 hours depending on traffic.

From Boston Area (80 Miles)

Follow Route 3 (Southeast Expressway), or Route 195/128 to Route 3, to the Sagamore Bridge. Cross the bridge and continue on Route 6 to Exit 6 (Route 132) into Hyannis. Follow the signs to ferry docks or airport. Trip takes approximately 1 1/2 hours depending on traffic.
